OmniBus® Matrix · A Matrix for the Intelligence Economy

Not infrastructure. A matrix.

A deterministic, protocol-free PCIe fabric where storage, servers, memory, GPU capacity, and traditional systems stop being isolated assets and become composable endpoints — the connective layer of the GateStor Habitat.

A server computes. A GPU accelerates. Memory stays local. OmniBus® Matrix dissolves those fixed roles.

Network-Based Clustering

Protocol overhead

State-management complexity and latency variability that are fundamentally misaligned with workloads requiring predictable performance.

PCIe-Native Fabric

Bus-level interaction

Direct resource interaction at the bus level. Any participating endpoint — storage, memory, GPU, traditional device — is addressed as a resource node, not an isolated machine.

01

GPUs sit next to the data

The point isn't movement — it's putting compute and data on the same bus, so AI runs against data in place.

Because every endpoint is addressed at the bus level, a GPU reaches storage and memory as if they were local. AI training and inference run directly against the data on the platform — no export to a separate cluster, no second copy staged for the accelerators. Deterministic behavior that holds as utilization rises is what AI training, inference, simulation, and high-frequency transaction systems need from their habitat. (Fabric bandwidth is listed in the specifications above.)

Removing protocol overhead is a structural safeguard, not just an efficiency gain: it keeps the path between compute and data predictable under load, which is exactly what data-in-place AI depends on.

Composable resources

Not virtualization. Architectural fungibility under policy control.

An idle GPU on one server becomes available to another that needs cognitive processing. RAM can be allocated to accelerate a GPU. Storage can be segmented and exposed so a server perceives shared capacity as its own.

Example — a 10 PB SP7K system exposes a 500 TB segment to a server. The server sees dedicated internal storage. The matrix sees a governed allocation.

Traditional & transitional infrastructure

Incorporate what exists. Virtualize what must be preserved.

Traditional servers and storage don't need to be rebuilt — only incorporated as endpoints. Most modernization efforts fail by assuming a clean leap to a future-state architecture. OmniBus® Matrix instead lets the traditional estate participate in the future rather than be stranded by it.

04

The BORG concept

Evolution as an architectural requirement — not an afterthought.

New accelerators, new memory forms, and new bus standards arrive more often than infrastructure cycles can absorb them. BORG is what gives the matrix its evolutionary character: instead of designing for one generation and retrofitting for the next, the matrix is built to absorb change — including future standards like CXL — without abandoning its own model.

Each new generation of PCIe-compatible hardware arrives pre-compatible with the matrix already in place — the habitat strengthens with every absorption instead of requiring a redesign.

The GateStor Habitat

Four layers. One coherent system of intelligence infrastructure. VSA contributes the abstraction model. SP7K operationalizes it in storage form. The OmniBus® adapter makes it cabled and physical. OmniBus® Matrix connects all of it into a resource environment organized by business requirements — not hardware constraints.

VSA

The abstraction model — storage, memory, and protection as one continuous logical space.

SP7K-NVMe G5

The abstraction, operationalized — deterministic storage hardware built on VSA.

OmniBus® Adapter

The physical fabric — PCIe cabled clustering from one host to sixty nodes.

OmniBus® Matrix

The composable resource environment — storage, memory, GPU, and traditional systems as governable endpoints.

= AI Habitat

A living, adaptive infrastructure layer — not a fixed array of appliances, but a coordinated resource ecology.

A structural rethinking of how enterprise resources are organized.

For CIOs: a path to modernization that preserves traditional investment and improves utilization. For CTOs: a deterministic PCIe fabric at 1 Tb/s, built to remain relevant as the ecosystem — and the hardware under it — keeps changing.
